Kung Hey Fat Choy!
The Chinese New Year celebration event is scheduled for this Saturday, January 28th. Below is the general logistic. (For students who are required to do rehearsal, please follow the instructions sent by the class teacher.)
- There is no need to bring the school bag, but please bring a snack if needed. (Snack bar is closed that day.)
- Please have your child wear a Chinese costume if you have one, or wear a bright / red color top for good luck!
- Please arrive at school by 9:30am. NOTE: Registration desk will be open from 9:15am to 11am. If you have not registered/paid yet, please come early.
- Please bring your child/ren directly to the cafeteria for Games. Game cards can be obtained at any game booths.
- 9:30 to 10:30am Games – Parents are required to accompany their children during game time. Please take care of snack and bathroom break during this period as well. Game prizes can be redeemed from 10:15 to 10:30 or during lunch later. ** Lunch ticket can also be picked from PTA during this time.
- At 10:30am, please bring your child/ren to the class teacher, who will be holding a “flag” (or at the table where she is hosting a game.) Attendance is taken at this time.
- 10:45 to 10:55am Parents and students (led by teachers) enter the auditorium and be seated
- 11:00 to 12 noon Cultural performances in the auditorium.
- Please pick up your children at/outside of their normal classroom.
- Noon to 1:30pm Lunch in the Cafeteria + Raffle.
Note: If you have not yet bought the lunch ticket, please email Judy at chs_pta_duty@yahoo.com ASAP. The cost is $8 per person, including students and TAs. Tickets can be picked up next week in the cafeteria.
In addition, CHS will be participating in a celebration event at the South Brunswick Library, on the same day (1/28), from 2 to 4pm. Audience will need tickets to see all performances. If you and your family are interested, please email Catherine Lam clam888@comcast.net ASAP to let her know the # tickets you would reserve. (First come first serve.)
