CHS School Journal – Call for Contribution
Our CHS School Journal is seeking journal contributors. That means YOU (students, parents, teachers and CHS Staff)! Materials may include and are not limited to articles written in Chinese and/or English (<2,500 words), CHS homework showcases, and videos/photos from CHS holiday celebrations and activities. Suggested topics range from “I chose CHS because …”, day-to-day school activities, Chinese culture in general to recipes for Chinese cuisine or alike. Submit your articles/photos/homework showcases to School Journal at school-journal@CHSnj2000.org by Saturday, November 10, 2018. We look forward to your contribution for the upcoming 2018 Winter Issue of the CHS School Journal.
Fishballs
October 20 • 10:00 AM – Noon
Cooked fishballs will be available for sale this Saturday, October 20th during snack time. Fishball orders can be picked up from Judy in the Cafeteria from 10 AM – noon.
2018 NJ Chinese Festival Scholarship 新州中囯日2018 助学金
The NJ Chinese Festival Scholarship was started by Ms Margaret Lam, in 2014, to encourage more students with Chinese ancestry to seek higher education and become ambassadors of Chinese cultures. This scholarship also hopes to promote more students to interest in politics.
A $1,000 scholarship will be awarded to ten(10) freshman students at university/college in the Fall of 2018. In addition, two(2) Political Science students will be selected to receive a scholarship of $1000 each regardless of their years in college.
This scholarship is only open to NJ residents with Chinese ancestry (either the father or mother side, or both). The deadline for the application is Nov. 9, 2018 based on post marks. For more details, click here to download the 2018 NJ Chinese Festival Scholarship application.
CHS Suggestion Box
CHS would love to hear from our parents. A suggestion box will be placed next to printer at the hallway. Please don’t hesitate to drop us a quick note of any comments and suggestions that you have about CHS. Your input is very important to CHS. Thank you in advance for your time!

We are excited to announce PTA will host The Community Food Fair / CHS Holiday Festival again this year on December 8th. Save the date; stay tuned for more information.
