CHS will be hosting an in-person Chinese New Year Celebration. You and your family are invited to join.
Event:  Chinese New Year Celebration (Year of Snake)
Date:   Saturday, February 8, 2025
Place:  East Brunswick Library Conference Rooms (2 Jean Walling, East Brunswick, Civic Center Dr, East Brunswick, NJ 08816)
Time:  10am to 12:30pm  Please arrive by 9:45am
Program: Performances, games (with prizes) and lunch.

PTA will provide lunch only to those who have signed up. Lunch is free for enrolled students, their parents/guardians (up to two) and their non-student siblings (up to two). Any other guests (up to 6) who want lunch will be required to pay $10 per person. Instructions on how to remit the fees will be given on the confirmation email after you sign up. 

We understand that not all families can join, due to traveling distance reasons. Therefore, we have asked the teachers to prepare and record the class performances, to be shown during the event. Individual performances are also welcome; especially any in-person performances will be greatly appreciated. 

Recordings of individual performances can be uploaded to this share drive. (Please label your video with the student’s name, grade and performance name.)

School Calendar Change: Since we are moving the Chinese New Year celebration to February 8th, February 1st is now a regular school day.  The school calendar has been updated to reflect the change.

Thank you for attending the CHS Town Hall on Saturday, December 7, 2024 announcing the transition of CHS of NJ to Chinese Language School of Columbia (MD) – CLSC (哥城中文學校) beginning in the 2025-26 school year in September 2025. The CHS Board and Administrators would like to invite you to a virtual Town Hall meeting on Saturday, December 7, at 11:15am. The purpose of the meeting is to share information on the school’s future. / We have important information to share with you in regard to the future plans for CHS.

** For K1 Class, their start time is 11:30 am – 12:30 pm
** For C8 Class, their start time is 08:00 am – 09:00 am
** For L2 Class, their start time is 09:30 am – 11:15 am

Academic Calendar

Thank you to those who have signed up for the CHS Family Appreciation Day 華仁同樂日.  It will be held on this Saturday, August 24, 2024, at the Reichler Park, 540 Ridge Rd, Monmouth Junction, NJ 08852

Time: 10:30am to 2:30pm

 Below are some highlights and friendly reminders:

* If you cannot come for whatever reasons, please notify us asap: fadteam@chsnj2000.org

* Please encourage your child/ren to wear a CHS T-Shirt if they have one. PTA will give out T-shirts and sling-bags to students who need one. There are other give-aways too, such as story books, pencils, CHS bookbags, caps and trinkets.

* Please arrive at the park no later than 10:30am.

* Please sign-in upon arrival and pick up your lunch tickets and gifts.

* PTA provides food & drink only during lunch time. Please bring extra water and snacks for yourselves and your child(ren) as needed.

* Activities include: Meeting the teachers, picking up textbooks, handing in summer-homework, arts & craft, badge making (feel free to bring a photo for making a badge), school group photo and games with prizes.

* It is the parents / guardians’ responsibility to supervise their children throughout the event.

* Please help with the games and cleanup.

* Direction: You can follow GPS using the Park address above. The park is all the way at the end of Garretson Ave.

* There are about 35 parking spaces at/near the park. More parking spaces are available at the lot across from the Police Station.
